Retirement Research Foundation (RRF) is the nation’s largest private foundation devoted solely to serving the needs of older persons in the U.S. and enhancing their quality of life. RRF works to make sure that today’s seniors remain vibrant, vital participants of our society. RRF has invested more than $160 million to help build a network of innovative and skilled individuals and institutions committed to addressing aging and retirement issues.
The Foundation funds direct service programs, educational initiatives, and research projects that enhance the quality of life of older persons in the U.S.. The Foundation also has a special interest in innovative projects that have the potential to affect the scope and shape of services delivered to the elderly across the country.
The Retirement Research Foundation was established by the late John D. MacArthur and endowed in 1978. The Foundation invests approximately $8 million each year to support efforts that:
- Enable older adults to live at home or in residential settings that facilitate independent living
- Improve the quality of care at nursing homes
- Leverage the wisdom and experience of older adults and promote community involvement
- Increase understanding of the aging process and age-associated diseases
